Our Favorite Waterpark Slides at Atlantis

On our recent trip to the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, we decided to spend a few of our days at their massive on-site waterpark to enjoy some slides and aquatic fun. With over 20 acres and more than a mile of rivers and pools, this park had no shortage of attractions to explore.

One of the more intense slides we experienced was The Abyss – this waterslide sent us plunging down twisting, dark tunnels in a huge, almost vertical 50-foot drop. At the bottom are views of fish and other marine animals swimming around – we called this the “aquarium slide”! This is our oldest teen’s video. She was only willing to do this one once.

If you’re seeking more relaxation, the Rapids River is a winding float along calmer waters (but not completely uneventful!) underneath cascades and geysers, surrounded by the ruins of temple, almost like taking a water ride through the jungle. We don’t have a video of it, but it is a slightly more intense “lazy river”!

Another iconic slide is the Leap of Faith, which drops riders 60 feet straight down at an 80 degree angle through a clear acrylic tunnel surrounded by sharks and marine life. If you have the courage, it’s an incredible rush! It took our teen until the last day to go down. She was afraid to but she couldn’t pass up the chance to experience it at least once. This is her video below!

For younger riders, the Serpent Slide offers a tamer yet still very cool experience, twisting and turning through a dark tunnel through a shark tank. This is the one we did the most, and our youngest daughter’s favorite! The video isn’t great because the camera had water on it, and we tried to use the “blur minor children” feature.

There were several other slides and water attractions throughout the park as well. Atlantis is definitely one of our favorite waterpark resorts!
